Procter & Gamble (P&G), one of the world's leading consumer goods manufacturers, has significantly expanded the logistics infrastructure at its Euskirchen site. The US company has commissioned a state-of-the-art, fully automated high-bay warehouse on its premises in the Silberberg industrial park.
The building, which is nearly 30 meters high and 90 meters wide, has space for more than 19,000 additional pallets. A special feature is the complete automation of the processes. From storage to delivery, every step is computer-controlled and supported by robot technology. Thanks to energy-saving technologies such as LED lighting and efficient air conditioning, the warehouse complies with P&G's sustainability guidelines.
This not only strengthens P&G's presence in the DACH region (Germany/Austria/Switzerland), but also its entire supply chain. The volume of goods that can be dispatched daily will increase by around 20 percent: in future, 360 trucks can be handled in Euskirchen instead of the previous 300.
The warehouse serves as a hub for the Europe-wide distribution of P&G products. In addition to the products manufactured in Euskirchen, such as Pampers brand baby diapers, goods from other plants are also stored here.
