Schmitz Cargobull, the truck trailer manufacturer and traditional family business from the Münsterland region, is focusing on growth and innovation: the capacities for refrigerated trailers and box trailers are being significantly expanded at the production site in Vreden. This is part of a major, multi-million-euro investment to position the company for the future. The core of the project is the construction of a new 4,500 square meter production hall, where efficiency will be significantly increased through the use of new technologies and optimized work processes. The aim is to reduce the production time per trailer from the current 15 minutes to just ten minutes.

Special attention is being paid to the digitalization of the new buildings and facilities. Schmitz Cargobull is thus positioning itself sustainably for the future. The company plays a central role in the "Datenfabrik.NRW" funding project. As one of two lighthouse factories, it is driving forward the digital transformation in the industry and setting new standards for smart production.

The delivery center near the production facility is also being expanded, doubling the parking capacity on an adjacent brownfield site to make vehicle delivery more efficient. This expansion will not only result in faster processes and lower costs, but will also help the environment by eliminating the need to lease off-site parking, thus reducing traffic in the region.

With this project, one of the largest employers in the Münsterland region underscores its pioneering role in the industry and its strong regional ties. The family-owned company is consistently pursuing its modernization and digitalization strategy in order to remain successful as an innovation leader in the future.
