For the seventh time, NRW.INVEST organized the Business and Investors Forum China together with the state capital Düsseldorf and the German-Chinese Business Association. The focus was on future topics such as digitization and Smart City models.
"North Rhine-Westphalia has always played a leading role in Germany in exchange and cooperation with China," said Haiyang Feng, Consul General of the People's Republic of China, commenting on the forum. In view of the current international economic and trade turbulences, this cooperation between China and Germany is now more important than ever.
For North Rhine-Westphalia, Chinese companies are important cooperation partners for the advancement of digital transformation. "As an excellent research and business location, we have outstanding prerequisites for an innovative, digital future," explained Christoph Dammermann, State Secretary of the NRW Ministry of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitization and Energy.
Petra Wassner, CEO of NRW.INVEST, stressed North Rhine-Westphalia's excellent reputation in China. "Due to the high location quality and the link via Belt & Road, we have become the premium location for Chinese companies in Germany." More than 1,100 Chinese companies manage their German and European business from NRW. China is the clear leader in direct investment in North Rhine-Westphalia, ahead of all other states. More than 550 managers and experts from China and Germany attended the Business and Investors Forum.
