In order to consolidate its position as one of the largest global suppliers to the printing industry, Toppan Printing Co. (Tokyo) is acquiring all the shares of INTERPRINT GmbH from Wrede Industrieholding GmbH & Co. KG (Arnsberg). The transaction is expected to become fully effective as soon as the merger control proceedings have been completed. "We are thrilled about Interprint's leading design expertise and its exceptional and long-standing customer relationships. These form the basis for our future growth not only in Europe but also in the rest of the world," says Hideo Yoshikawa, CEO of TOPPAN Europe GmbH.
Together with Decotec Printing S. A. (Spain), acquired in 2017, and TOPPAN Interamerica Inc., Interprint is another fixture for TOPPAN's expansion strategy in the decor printing market. INTERPRINT GmbH, which has its headquarters in Arnsberg, was founded in 1969 and with 1,300 employees and eight production sites in Germany, the USA, Malaysia, Poland, China, Russia and Brazil, is one of the world's leading decor printers. In 2018, the Interprint Group generated sales of around 350 million euros.
TOPPAN's worldwide team comprises more than 50,000 employees. With annual sales of around 12 billion euros, the group is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and is part of the Nikkei 225 stock market index.
