Hemoteq, a manufacturer of drug-coated medical devices, is massively expanding its production site in Alsdorf. The company, which emerged from RWTH Aachen University in 1999 and was acquired by Freudenberg Medical in 2015, is investing 50 million euros in the site.

By 2026, 300 new jobs will be created on the 41,000-square-meter site, with up to 600 jobs planned in the long term. Alsdorf will become a global production center for balloon catheters and stents, among other products, which optimize the healing process for patients with cardiovascular diseases.

The company particularly values the strong medical technology tradition in the Aachen region and the proximity to research facilities and specialists.

The expanded production facility in Alsdorf will enable Hemoteq to meet global demand, while the other ten sites worldwide will provide regional supply.
