Oliver Burrak has been the new NRW.Global Business representative in Warsaw since June 1, 2024.

Burrak brings extensive experience from more than ten years of professional activity in Poland and broad expertise in the areas of business development, process and project management as well as sales. As a co-organizer of the German-Polish Society's international "Stammtisch Warschau" (Warsaw Round Table) and a member of the German Embassy's cultural mediators' circle, he has a broad network in the German-Polish community and is committed to the exchange between the two countries.

"North Rhine-Westphalia is a dynamic and innovative business location that offers Polish companies a wide range of opportunities," explains Burrak. "Thanks to my many years of professional experience in Cologne and now also many years of living and working in Poland, I have close ties to both countries and would like to do my part to promote bilateral relations. They are the result of many years of cooperation between numerous partner organizations in Poland and NRW. I look forward to continuing this work.

"The close relations between Poland and North Rhine-Westphalia have a historical basis: many Poles emigrated to the Ruhr region as early as the end of the 19th century. Today, Poland is also one of North Rhine-Westphalia's most important economic and trade partners," says Felix Neugart, CEO of NRW.Global Business. "Around 300 Polish companies are now based here, and numerous NRW companies have branches in Poland. We want to make better use of our cooperation potential and further expand our joint activities, especially in areas such as digital transformation, renewable energies, hydrogen and the circular economy. We look forward to implementing this together with Oliver Burrak.

The foreign office of the state-owned foreign trade promotion company in Warsaw has been in existence since 2016. Its core tasks include marketing NRW as a business location in Poland, supporting Polish companies with their relocation plans and supporting sector-specific market development activities for NRW companies in Poland.
