The South Korean company Doosan Robotics has opened its European headquarters in Düsseldorf. The establishment in NRW is the result of the increasing demand for Doosan's “cobots” in Europe: collaborative robots that can work safely with humans and perform simple tasks.

The cobots are used in a variety of applications, including palletizing, welding, and loading and unloading machines. A service center for installations and repairs has been established next to the headquarters in Heerhugowaard, the Netherlands.

In addition to Germany, Doosan Robotics has also identified important European markets in the UK, Italy and the Netherlands. These are to be served by means of strategic partnerships. These include, for example, authorized specialist dealers and system integrators who combine products from different computer system providers.

The company is a member of the Doosan Group. Doosan is the oldest company in South Korea, and since the establishment of its first department store in 1896, it has produced numerous innovations ranging from consumer goods to heavy and high-tech industries. The Robotics division was established in 2015.
