Belgium is positioning itself as a pioneer in the energy transition, with the port of Antwerp as a center for innovative hydrogen technologies. The port's ambitious climate goals include achieving climate neutrality by 2050 and establishing itself as a European hub for green hydrogen.
A business trip organized by NRW.Global Business from 22 to 24 October 2024 will enable companies from NRW to explore the potential of the Belgian hydrogen economy. The program includes visits to pioneering projects in the NextGen District industrial zone as well as opportunities to exchange ideas with industry experts and local companies.
The focus is on exploring hydrogen projects that play a key role in the import, local production, processing and transportation of green hydrogen and hydrogen carriers such as ammonia and methanol. The trip also promotes the development of long-term business relationships in the field of sustainable energy solutions. A highlight will be participation in the Belgian Hydrogen Congress in Brussels. This event, organized by leading hydrogen clusters, provides a platform for networking and deepening industry knowledge. The congress combines national strategies with industrial innovation and underlines Belgium's role in the European hydrogen landscape.
