Japan Business Day 2023
At the Japan Business Day 2023, industry representatives from Japan and Germany presented future perspectives and applications on the topic of "Sustainability in Trade, Services and Industry: Drivers for the Economy" in their respective fields.
The concept of sustainability has evolved. For development to be sustainable over the long term, economic performance, environmental protection, and social responsibility must be considered together. It is not only companies in Germany and Japan that have a responsibility to achieve the goals of sustainable development. They also have a role to play as producers and providers of goods and services, as drivers of research and development, and as consumers of raw materials and intermediate products. One solution to the growing consumption of non-renewable raw materials and the need to conserve resources is the implementation of a circular economy. Advanced recycling and sustainability solutions in industry, trade and services worldwide have the potential to influence production and consumption patterns in a sustainable direction.
Large companies and robust SMEs in Japan, North Rhine-Westphalia, and the state capital Düsseldorf have repeatedly demonstrated their ability to leverage traditional strengths with innovative capabilities. The exchange at the Japan Business Day, which saw over 300 participants, effectively contributed to this and opened up further opportunities for collaboration.
